READ OUR COVID 19 REOPENING STATEMENT

COVID-19

In response to Covid, your visit to The Lamplighter will be slightly different to what we are normally used to. The main changes will be reduced table capacity, improved cleaning procedures, and we will be providing table service at all times.

Unfortunately guests will not be served at the bar, however there will be plenty of staff on hand offering table service, with a Lamplighter App to follow. To help keep our staff safe we are encouraging contactless payments which will also be taken from your table however we will accept cash if necessary.

Although we have reduced our table capacity, we are lucky that we have the upstairs Drawing Room and tables outside available everyday so there should be plenty of space.

We will be operating a reduced menu while we all get used to the changes, this will of course include some of The Lamp's favourites with specials to suit the (hopefully sunny) weather.

We have temporarily changed our opening times to 12pm - 11pm everyday and have extended our kitchen hours until 9pm (7pm Sun).

BOOKING PROCESS

It will not be essential to book Monday – Thursday however this is still advised for diners. It is important to note that due to reduced table capacity, if there are no available tables then we will be at capacity and you will not be able to enter the premises (we expect this to be the case during peak times).

In the interest of fairness, we will be taking bookings for 2 hour time slots Friday - Sunday but if there is table availability for you to join us for longer, then we will do our best to accommodate this. The last bookings will be taken for 9pm.

At the moment we are accepting bookings via email only - we will require the email, full name and contact number of the organiser and each of their guests. We will then confirm your booking and send over all relevant information.

We can currently only accommodate bookings of up to 8 people from two different households (including support bubbles) and due to our limited space outside, seating at garden tables will be limited to 4 guests in total. Please be responsible and adhere to the government's social distancing guidelines when thinking about coming to join us. Our tables are under 1 meter width so please bear this in mind when choosing how and where to sit at your table.

Children must remain seated at all times unless they need to use the toilet in which case they must be accompanied by an adult.

We allow quiet, well behaved dogs which must remain on a lead at all times and not be allowed to interact with other guests.

WHAT TO EXPECT

Upon arrival you will be required to sanitise your hands and you and your guests will be greeted by a member of staff who will show you to your table. Our staff will go through the necessary information you'll need to be aware of and answer any questions before taking your order.

There will be information displayed throughout the premises to keep people aware of our Covid related measures and our full Covid Statement will be available on our website to offer further guidance. We are currently finalising this and it will be available to view in the coming days, please take a moment to read before your visit.

We'll need to take the contact details (full name, mobile and email) of each guest so that we can assist the government effort in their track and trace systems. Your details will remain secure and will be destroyed after 21 days.

In compliance with government guidelines and due to the potential risk of transmission, guests will not be permitted to sing, raise their voices or dance. We want our guests to enjoy their time with us but we need to be strictly adhering to government guidelines so please work with us.

Obviously due to current circumstances our regular style of service will be temporarily changing to ensure the safety of our guests and our staff. As the situation evolves we too will be making some changes to our operating procedures so please keep up to date by visiting our website www.thelamplighter.co.uk

We understand that lots of people may not feel ready to return but please rest assured that we are doing everything we can to make The Lamplighter as safe as we can. We look forward to seeing you all again in time with the usual Lamplighter experience that you know and love.
