Welcome to The Lamplighter Freehouse, Northampton

The Lamplighter is an independent backstreet pub, originally established in 1877. We’re known for our friendly staff and a great selection of real ales, cider, and craft beer, with a strong focus on supporting local independent businesses.

We serve lovely home-cooked food, including classic pub favourites, Sunday roasts, and a monthly Vegan Tapas Night on the first Tuesday of each month.

There’s always something going on, from our Wednesday pub quiz and discounted burgers on Thursdays to DJs and live music at the weekend - check out our “What’s On” section to see what’s coming up.

Our garden is a real sun trap in the summer and a great spot to relax. When it’s colder, we’ve got covered, heated areas to keep things cosy.

Originally known as The Overstone Arms, the pub was renamed in 1989.

In 2027, The Lamplighter will be celebrating 150 years as a neighbourhood pub at the heart of the local community and we can’t wait to celebrate with you all.
